Köln Day 1

Guten Morgen. The weather in Cologne is chilly and a bleh, but the company is great :) This morning it is approximately 55F, cloudy, and slightly breezy. Despite the unfriendly weather we are venturing into the city to shop (of course) and find a gift for a "good bye" party we are attending tonight. More to come on that later :)
I will try to post pictures, but the tabs on the blogger website are in German and I am not entirely sure what they say, so...pictures may not be possible!
Anway, off to frolic in Köln!

Auf Wiedersehen, Amerika!

Last summer, Zola paticipated in an exchange program called GAPP (German American Partnerhip Program). Our family hosted a German student named Louisa in April of 2010 and then in July Zola traveled to Germany to live with her family. In total 16 students participated in this exchange from Zola's high school.
Our family however got a bonus...Sarah, Louisa's older sister came to live with us for February, March, and April of this year. She was a delight and we truly enjoyed having her with us! It was VERY hard for us to put her on a plane back to Germany :( Needless to say, we miss her!
All of that is to preface that Zola is now in Cologne, Germany with the Dollberg family for two weeks. We know she will have a great time! Thank you Dollbergs for keeping up with our little girl.
